I found the channel HLN. Joy Behar was hosting Andrew Breitbart and Stephanie miller. I have read Andrew Breitbart's stuff on occasion & listened to him and he is okay. Not really opinionated about him one way or another. Then, I saw him in a "Crossfire" kind of show or situation & he was pretty impressive
I hate politics, not because of what politics stands for, but what the people making the policies are about and what they do. I dislike a lot of what not only the politicians on both sides say thats idiotic, but the stuff the liberal/conservative media say. I also hate all the lying (unsurprisingly, I can spend hours on factcheck.org or politifact.com). Its disgusting how often politifact will politician's statements as flat out lies.
It was refreshing then to hear Andrew Breitbart try to tell it as it is. I really don't have a personal opinion on the guy one way or another on his views, but he looked like someone who at least cared about the truth. His "opponent" was hurling insults left and right. "teabagger", "dopey" and "racist" with her favorite being the last one. I didn't know who she was, but I hated her instantly. She made a highly pejorative list comparing the GOP candidates in 2012 to the 7 dwarves including calling Bachman "dopey" (I don't like her, but she is not a dope).
Breitbart pointed out quickly how this kind of stuff gets you nowhere and just drags down the debate. Now he was speaking my language. He came off as a moderate, rational person who was just telling it as it is, while she threw insult after insult and grouped him with every single idiot on the right. She called the GOP the homophobes & he pointed to the Log Cabin Republicans and the group GOProud which he is involved in which both are conservative LGBT groups that are not rejected by the party either.
Breitbart was also quick to denounce Donald Trump. Championing the birther movement at this point is foolish. Breitbart quickly pointed out that Trump not only was not a true "tea party" guy like him, but was likely doing what was best for Trump. he pointed out previous connections from tTump to Pelosi. Doing a little digging, 16k of the 22k trump donated in the 2010 campaigns went to Dems & he donates fairly equally to the parties. While he tries to seem like a Tea Partier, he gave 5k in 2010 to Harry Reid.
Breitbart had to constantly battle accusations of racism and homophobia. He countered with valid points instead of argumentative statements. When the GOP was accused of homophobia, he countered with how the Democrat supporters often try to take ridiculous steps not to seem the least bit racist or politically incorrect. They protest only churches in primarily white, conservative neighborhoods when it comes to gay rights. Gays aren't well accepted in the Black/Hispanic communities either, why don't you protest there?
